Our Summer Reading Camp program was developed in response to the observed low reading levels of our students entering the camp. Recognizing the importance of keeping young minds engaged and learning during the summer break, we designed a month-long initiative aimed at students in grades 3 through 9.

Program Components:

  1. Book Selection: Each summer, we carefully select a chapter book that is appropriate for a wide range of ages, spanning from 3rd to 9th grade. This book serves as the focal point of our camp activities.

  2. Learning Materials: Our dedicated teachers curate learning materials tailored to the selected book. These materials encompass a variety of engaging activities such as culinary arts, arts and crafts, games, and relevant field trips. By integrating these hands-on experiences, we aim to make the reading experience more immersive and enjoyable.

  3. Meals: To ensure the well-being of our students, we provide breakfast and lunch throughout the duration of the program. This helps to guarantee that students have access to nutritious meals outside of the regular school calendar.

  4. Educational Goals: The primary objective of our program is to prevent summer learning loss and equip students with the skills they need to succeed in the upcoming school year. By fostering a love for reading and learning, we aim to boost students' academic confidence and performance.

  5. Safe Environment: Beyond academics, we prioritize creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can have fun while learning. Our camp is designed to be a welcoming space where students can explore, engage, and grow.
